What is a Twilight Wedding?

Twilight weddings are becoming more and more popular - but what are they? Simply put, they are a wedding that starts later in the day and leaves out the wedding breakfast part of the day (the sit down meal). And that’s it - everything else about your wedding is the same and you’ll still get to enjoy all the best bits!

What are the timings of a Twilight wedding?

Of course, every venue is different, but here are our suggested timinings for our Twilight wedding package…

4:00pm - Guest arrival at Sparth House

4:30pm - Ceremony - time to walk down the aisle!

5:00pm - Drinks reception - time to enjoy drinks, canapes and of course photos!

7:00pm - Cake cutting, speeches and toast

7:30pm - Party time - time to get on the dance floor!

8:00pm - Evening food from our Market Food menu - pizzas anyone?!

12:00am - Carraiges - and with 16 bedrooms, some guests haven’t got far to go!

What’s included with a Twilight wedding package?

As with all our weddings at Sparth House, we like to make our packages that little bit special, and our twilight package is no different! Our package is for 80 guests and includes:

  • Exclusive use venue hire from 4pm*

  • Experienced wedding coordinator to run your day to perfection (also on hand during your entire planning process)

  • Your ceremony in our stunning ceremony room

  • One drink and three canapes per guest during your drinks reception

  • A post box and present table

  • Choose from our Market Food menu for your evening food

  • Stay in our gorgeous bridal suite the night of your wedding and enjoy breakfast the next morning

  • No venue hire, exclusivity fees or ceremony room charges

  • All table linen, glassware, cake stands, cake knives, easels and festoon lighting

*For exclusive use, all 15 of our bedrooms must be booked and paid for by either the wedding guests or couple

Why we love a Twilight Wedding

  • We have festoon lighting throughout the gardens, so you can get some really cute couple photos under the lights

  • You won’t need a wedding photographer for quite as long - they can get the ceremony and first dance all within a few hours

  • You’ll save so much stress on a table plan - no family politics or wondering who will chat to who - there’s no seating plan so guests will please themselves

  • You can still do speeches, cake cutting and first dance, so you’ll still get all those gorgeous photos

  • You won’t need to be up as early for hair and make-up!

  • You won’t need, name cards, table plan or favours - meaning you’ll save £££’s!

We hope this helps explain exactly what a twilight wedding is and what to expect. If it sounds like it could be for you - pop in for a private show round and let’s find your perfect date!
