Isla & Rob’s Three Day Wedding Weekend

Now, when a member of the Sparth House owning family is getting married, it was never going to be a typical wedding!

Isla is the daughter of Nigel and Marion, the owners of Sparth House and sister of Olivia so of course, she chose the family wedding venue for her special day.

Isla & Rob chose to have a bespoke, three-day celebration, incredibly similar to our ‘All-Weekend-Long’ Package. With a guest list larger than can be accommodated here at Sparth House, the couple had to opt for a marquee in the garden, which they hired in specially.

FRIDAY - The Night Before

The celebrations started on Good Friday, with family arriving at Sparth House in the early evening. They were welcomed by the Bride & Groom to be and treated with margaritas and tacos.

They enjoyed the space of the lounge and the newly renovated bar area, meaning there was plenty of room for everyone.

Family were able to catch up and enjoy a relaxed evening together before heading up to bed. Around forty family members stayed over in the bedrooms, whilst Isla and her Bridal Party headed up to the Garden Apartment.

Our All Weekend Long Package includes a cocktail hour with canapés for up to 40 guests, a relaxed family meal, and the accomodation for the evening including the Garden Apartment.

SATURDAY - The Wedding Day

Like almost all of our Brides, Isla stayed the night and got ready in our Garden Apartment. It simply is the perfect way to start your wedding, with penty of space for everyone.

There’s natural light, it’s own garden, plenty of mirrors and you’re completely tucked away with no need to leave until it’s time for the ceremony.

They had all the time they needed for hair & make up, enjoying a glass of fizz, photos, crying and even dancing right before heading off to walk down the aisle!

The Ceremony

Guests were greeted and shown to their seats by Groomsmen whilst the String Quartet played various songs.

Isla and Rob opted for a Celebrant service, rather than a registrar, to give them complete freedom to have their ceremony exactly as they wanted, with plenty of personal touches.

The ceremony was held in the marquee, overlooking the garden and was decorated in spectacular fashion by Julie from Hedgehogg Florist.

It was full of beautiful, personal touches, including the Bride’s mum being walked down the aisle just before the bridal procession by the Bride’s brother (and Sparth House Head Chef) Calum.

The Bridal procession walked down the aisle to a live singer from DFC Lancashire.

Drinks Reception

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a drinks reception with more music from the string quartet, a glass of fizz and plenty of canapes.

They (luckily for April) were able to enjoy the gorgeous grounds and stunning gardens at Sparth House, whilst the couple made the most of the spring daffodils for some couple shots.

The couple even had their very own ‘fizz wall’! Guests rang a bell and out popped a glass of fizz - this went down a treat with all guests - including Olivia! You can now add the same fizz wall to your package for that little something extra!

The Wedding Breakfast

The Wedding Breakfast and speeches were held back in the marquee. Tables featured a gorgeous ivory linen, charger plates, glasswear and cutlery from Whitehouse and stunning florals from Hedgehogg Florist.

The couple kept centrepieces small as they were having a sharing platter for their main course, which needed lots of table space.

Their table numbers were a super cute touch of photos of the couple at that age!

Whilst you don’t need to hire in linen, glasswear and cutlery for our wedding packages (as it’s all included anyway), these photos show how just a small change can really elevate and bring your style to life.

The Evening Reception

With a DJ set up from DFC Lancashire, the marquee was transformed into the evening reception space where guests could dance the night away.

Isla & Rob made the most of their evening reception and fit in loads more photos - but also got their guests involved too with shots like a smoke bomb photo at the front of the house, an outdoor, sparkler-lit first dance on the patio, a 360 photo booth and a prosecco tower celebration down confetti lane under the festoon lighting.

The evening might mean it’s time to party, but there’s still plenty of things you can do to keep up the excitement and enjoyment of your guests and keep them involved in the day.

Picture Perfect!

With the wedding couple knowing Sparth House inside out, and opting for a photographer that has been to Sparth House many, many times (including for his own wedding) they knew all the best spots for photos. From our famous front door, to the sunset in the gardens out the back. Here are a few of our favourites and some inspiration for your Sparth House wedding photographer.

SUNDAY - The Late Brunch

After a brief lie-in and a hearty family breakfast on Sunday morning, the family that satyed over night headed off for a walk in the Lancashire & Ribble Valley countryside, ready to return to Sparth House for day three of the celebrations.

A picnic style brunch awaited, with tables adorned in pastel candles and flowers in bud vases taken from the florals from the day before. The groomsmen hosted an afternoon of games and activities with a very special surprise for the Bride of Alex Birtwell to keep guests dancing until late at night.

Friends and family were able to spend just that little bit of extra time together, before parting ways. It was a lovely relaxed afternoon, and guests were greeted by the newly married couple and glasses of pimms before heading in to the marquee.

Our all-weekend-long package includes a bottomless brunch with mimosas and bloody marys for your overnight guests.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Stead!
